Removal of a Judge's Scores
A two-thirds (2/3) majority of the Club
Representatives present in the Tally Room must agree before a
Judge's score can be removed. The Overseer Judge must be
present for all votes in the Tally Room. The Referee Judge's
scores are subjected to the same scrutiny as the other Judges'
scores once they are introduced in the Tally Room for either
replacing an Overall Performance Judge's scores or breaking a tie
in the final results.
Representation of Judges Facing
Disqualification
If requested by the Club Representatives, a judge
may be permitted in the Tally Room to answer questions involving
his/her individual scores.
Judges in the Tally Room
At the request of the Club Representatives, a judge
may be permitted in the Tally Room to answer questions of a
technical nature that do not relate to the quality of his/her
scores. For example, the judge may be able to answer questions on
the Scoring System, Tally Room Procedures, Robert's Rules of
Order, or on the equipment used in the Tally Room.
The rules and procedures outlined here are based on the governing articles of the Texas State Dance Association, the Oklahoma State Swing Dance Association, the Southwest Regional Dance Association, and other organizations that use the relative placement system.
They may be modified as required to adapt them to the conventions and preferences of the organization wishing to use them. Care should be taken, however, not to inadvertently alter the basic functionality of the system.
